【インターン医師】オーストラリアの病院からインターン医師のオファーが来た

オーストラリアの医学部に通っているぼくだが、過去数回のわたりオーストラリアでインターン医師になる過程を記事を書いてきた。

申請そのものは終わってしまったのだが、ぼくがオーストラリアで医者になるにはまず医学部を卒業しなければならない。医学部の最終学年は色々と忙しいが、それでも卒業に向けてぼくに大きな活力を与えてくれる嬉しいニュースが舞い込んできたので、ここでシェアしようと思う。

そう、記事のタイトルにあるように、ぼくをインターン医師として雇ってくれる病院が決まったんです！

以下、インターン医師のオファーのメール２通と、オファーを受け入れる過程。

（１）オファープールに入っているとのメール

Dear Mr HIROMICHI GOTO,

THIS IS NOT A JOB OFFER.

You have been appointed to the suitable recruitment pool for 2019 WA Intern.

Appointment to the pool does not guarantee that you will be offered a position.

First round offers for 2019 internships commence today, nationally.

Employing health services will commence making offers to successful applicants from the suitable pool, to fill 2019 Intern positions in Western Australia.

Appointments may be made from this pool until Friday 22 March 2019.

If you are offered a position, you will be contacted by email with details of your offer and the time by which you must respond to it. Your appointment to the position will be subject to satisfactory pre-employment checks e.g. Criminal Record Screening, undertaken by the employing health service.

Selection into this recruitment pool is subject to the regulations of the Public Sector Standards. The provisions of the Public Sector Management (Breaches of Public Sector Standards) Regulations 2005 allow applicants not recommended to the suitable pool to have a right to lodge a breach claim of the process within four working days of notification – 5.00pm (WST) Friday 13/07/2018.

You do not need to respond to this email.

Dear Mr HIROMICHI GOTO,

Thank you for your application for an internship in Western Australia (WA) in 2019.

You have received an offer for a Full Time Intern position in 2019 at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital. You are offered a three year contract, starting on 07/01/2019 and ending on 16/01/2022.

You will be required to accept or decline your offer online by

17:00 WST 11 July 2018 (Wednesday 11 June 2018, 5pm AWST)

Instructions for accepting or declining your offer

You are required to accept or decline your offer online. To do so follow the same log on process and details used when applying for the intern position:

Log in to the MedJobsWA website where you applied. (If you have forgotten your password, click on ‘Forgotten password’ and follow the instructions).
Click on your name in the top right corner, ‘Profile’ and then on the ‘Application History’ tab.
In the ‘Offers’ section, click on ‘Respond’.
Select your response under ‘Offers Decision’ (‘Accept’, ‘Decline’ or ‘Withdraw’) and click ‘Submit’..
Review the ‘My Application History’ tab and confirm that the offer displays correctly as accepted, declined or withdrawn.

PLEASE NOTE: If you have not accepted your offer by 17:00 WST 11 July 2018, (Wednesday 11 July 2018, 5pm AWST) your offer will be withdrawn.

In accordance with the national intern agreement, applicants only receive one offer of a 2019 internship from each jurisdiction including WA.

If you receive an offer from another hospital which you wish to accept, please accept the new offer and then decline the WA offer through the MedJobsWA website. If you receive more than one offer, you must accept the one that you want to take up and decline your other offers within 48 hours. Failure to do so may void the second offer.

While you have been offered a three year fixed term contract with Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital as your employing authority, in order to provide the full range of experiences and training necessary for you to progress from Intern through Resident Medical Officer, it may be necessary for you to be transferred to other Health Service Providers. As part of this process of transfer Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital will seek to consult with the affected employees particularly by asking for the affected employees to provide their preferred locations for their placements through the process prescribed in the annual guidelines published by the Postgraduate Medical Council within the Department of Health.

Also, if it is necessary for you to be transferred to a different Health Service Provider during the term of the three year contract, the Health Service Provider you are transferred to will be substituted as your employing authority under your contract of employment.

Once you have accepted your offer, you will receive a new starter pack and contract paperwork from later this year. Please ensure that your contact details in MedJobsWA are kept up to date. Any further enquiries regarding your offer should be directed to the Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital Medical Administration.
